Bursary Advice

Financial support to study at Notre Dame Sixth Form.

16–19 Bursary

Notre Dame High School will target the 16 – 19 Bursary to ensure that it reaches students who face significant barriers to participating in education and will target funds to help the students in greatest need. In doing so we have a duty to ensure that the money is spent in ways which helps to break down the barriers and deals with the costs of being in education.

All payments are subject to students meeting agreed standards and targets.  There are 3 targets: attendance, behaviour & organisation of work. The targets will be reviewed and set annually by the Director of Sixth Form and Assistant Director of Sixth Form. Failure to meet the targets may result in payments being withheld.

Application Process and Payments

All applications for a bursary fund payment are to be made to the Sixth Form Office. Students can apply for a bursary at any time, for example if the household circumstances change during the academic year.

The application form and bursary policy16-19 can be accessed below.

16-19 Tuition Fund

The Government has provided one-off funding for 2020-21 academic year to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus.

The funding is being provided to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English, Maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted. Although the actual tuition does not need to be for GCSE English or Maths, the students supported all need to be those who had not achieved grade 5 or above in at least one of those subjects at this level by age 16. Providers should also have regard to the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
