A special TV programme for Year 13 sixth form students on the graduate job market & degree apprenticeships.

Graduate Careers Live! is a new twice-yearly 90-minute programme, introducing sixth form students, their parents, and schools’ careers & university admissions staff to today’s graduate job market. Broadcasting from a TV studio in central London, the October programme is specifically aimed at Year 13 students and their parents – and will showcase many of the graduate job opportunities, occupations and professions that sixth form students can aspire to in the future. It will provide invaluable inspiration, information and practical careers guidance on how university – or one of the growing number of degree apprenticeships – can lead to rewarding careers in areas like engineering, technology, banking & finance, law, accountancy and the public sector. But which universities and degree courses are most-likely to lead to a well-paid graduate job? Which universities do the country’s top employers target for their graduate recruitment? And how can today’s sixth-formers use university – or a degree apprenticeship – to develop the skills and experiences that graduate employers are looking for? The programme features employers, recent graduates, degree apprentices, graduate recruitment experts, the very latest research and insight on what it really takes to be successful in the highly-competitive graduate job market. The presenters are Martin Birchall, Editor of The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers and Levi Jouavel, presenter of BBC Three’s The Catch Up and a former BBC apprentice. Graduate Careers Live! will be essential viewing for all Year 13 students at schools & sixth form colleges across the UK, before they finalise their post-sixth form options and make their UCAS applications – or apply to employers for degree apprenticeships. The programme is produced by High Fliers Research, in partnership with the Department for Education.

Live to watch the programme, live at 2pm on Thursday 5th October, or on ‘catch-up’ afterwards.
