Why study this subject?

History is worth studying simply because it is interesting and challenging, but it is also a long-established academic A Level course, taken seriously by universities and employers. A Level History will help you to become an informed, engaged, knowledgeable person. Every year a number of our A Level historians choose to study History or a related subject at university, which can provide a good route into careers such as law, journalism, teaching, and museums and heritage.

Our exciting course covers a range of subjects including the Middle East in the 20th century, the Cold War, and the British Civil Wars. Students will be expected to develop as independent learners, reading widely and contributing to seminar-style lessons. We believe that our A Level History course is challenging, inspiring and popular.
