Pupil Premium funding

All pupils who are in receipt of Free School Meals allowance will then also receive the benefits of Pupil Premium funding which is paid direct to the school and will support the education of the student.

This funding will cover things like the cost of music lessons within the school and possibly hire of an instrument. Student’s in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) will also get their Design & Technology contributions covered by PP funding, likewise Food Tech. PP students will also benefit from the purchase of study and revision guides during their GCSE year.

PP students are closely monitored and if it is felt they need additional support in the core subjects they will be offered additional, supportive lessons in English and Maths. This is not a punishment but rather to support their learning in readiness for GCSEs.

School trips are not covered however certain trips may be subsidised for PP students.

Finally, if students have to purchase specific kit – for example current GCSE/BTEC PE students have their sports shirts funded because these have to be personalised for each student so examiners can identify them when out on the pitch/playing field.
