Why this subject matters

Unlike other subjects which students are taught, PSHEE isn’t an examined subject and instead focusses on social and emotional growth whilst providing a greater view of our local and global community. As recommended by the PSHE Association, it is covered in discrete lessons, form time, assemblies, events and integrated into all other subject areas where appropriate. As such, drugs and relationships and sex education are mainly covered in RE and Science lessons to ensure that it is taught in line with Catholic teachings and the biological and chemical aspects of these topics are covered accurately and respectively.
