    Y6 - Y7 Transition

    Transition Update 07/07/20

We very much look forward to welcoming our new students and their families to Notre Dame.
As we are currently unable to invite you onto our site due to the current situation, we have created a virtual welcome instead.

    Y6- Y7 Transition

Moving to High School is a major step in a child's life and for their family too.  We have a number of ways to ensure that your child will have a smooth transition including:

School Visits: We visit all schools sending 3 or more students to meet with their Y6 teachers.  We also communicate by phone/email with all our other feeder schools to gather key information.

Welcome Pack 1: In March 2020 an initial welcome letter was sent to our new students and their families. This Pack contained Information on Uniform, and a data entry form for families to complete and send back. This was due to be followed by a Welcome Pack 2 - including letters with reply slips to be completed and returned at the New Parents' Evening. Due to the COVID 19 restrictions we have made the below changes to transition this year.

Virtual – Via Zoom - New Parents and Pupils Evening: Tuesday 30th June 2020 – Surnames A – N @ 6pm and M – Z @ 7pm – invite and password to enter this meeting will be sent out in the Wave 2 transition pack. This event is now for parents and pupils to meet key staff with a Questions and Answers session in the last 15 minutes.

Unfortunately the Y6-Y7 Transition Day on Monday 13th July 2020 is now cancelled and replaced with the above Evening – The Wave 2 pack sent out to all parents week commencing 8th June contains large quantities of detail to support both pupil and parent transition to high school at this challenging time. This pack also contains relevant contacts should you find yourself with unanswered questions before we meet you all in September.

Special Needs on site visits are also cancelled for students with SEN Mrs Aldred the school SENCO will be in contact with parents pupils in the coming weeks prior to September. If you have any questions please contact the SEN Department @
