    Year 9

    Topics include:-

Prejudice ... We explore our own experiences of prejudice, for example as teenagers, our likes etc.  We link the theme of prejudice to the play Blood Brothers and explore how stereotyping and judgements towards 'class' cause the downfall of the two main characters.

Much Ado about Nothing ... We look at the difference in behaviour between Shakespeare's audience and today.  We focus on the theme of love within the play and how the manipulation of others and mistaken identity is at the heart of the plays popularity and humour.

Physical Theatre and Commedia ... We explore 'slapstick' humour linking this performance style to Commedia.  We learn about the origins of Commedia, the stock characters/storylines and create masks to perform in.  We link Commedia's expressive performance style to explore physical theatre, combining ensemble and synchronised movement.
