    Health & Social Care

    Why this subject matters

Health and Social Care is been an important part of the curriculum studied here at Notre Dame High School. Recently, it has increased in popularity, possibly as a result of government legislation that requires all entrants to Nursing, and other health related professions to obtain an Honours degree.

This subject is being taught at GCSE level, through the OCR examination board. At both GCSE this qualification is comprised of a combination of examination and coursework, and enables students to develop a broad range of useful skills and experiences including an opportunity for work based learning.
