Supporting Your Child's Learning at Home

We want to include as many of you as possible in our school strategy for developing our young people’s resourcefulness, resilience and independence.

    • “What is the best way to praise our children?”
    • “What is the best way to motivate our children and to ultimately help them to become self-motivated?”
    • “What is the most effective way of supporting our children with their homework and revision?”

On Thursday 18th May Roger Higgins and Tom Pinnington from the leadership team will (again) be running a session that aims to unpick these questions, provide practical advice and tips, and set advice in the wider context of our strategy. We hope that large numbers of you can attend, hence the event will run in St. John’s Hall. Here are what parents who attended the original session said:

    · “[This talk] has shone a light on the way I reacted to praise [when I was at school]”

    · “[This talk] gave me practical ideas which are simple and easy to try to support my child’s development”

    · “[This talk] should be a requirement for all parents – essential to supporting our children”

    · “Very productive and useful learning about Mindset. Definitely recommend for every parent”

    · “Very positive. I shall definitely put the ideas provided in practice [with my children]”

If you would like to attend, please send an email to feedback@ndhs.org.uk
