As many parents and carers may well be aware Mr Brian Conway has since January been working on a 50/50 basis as Executive Head teacher of Notre Dame and CEO of the St John the Baptist Catholic MAT. Mr Neil Cully has been Acting Head of School during this time.
A couple of weeks ago Mr Conway was successful in being appointed the Full Time CEO of the St John the Baptist Catholic MAT from September and Mr Cully was also successfully appointed to become the permanent Head of School for Notre Dame.
We expect these changes to have a very positive impact across the MAT and for our community here at Notre Dame. Both Mr Conway and Mr Cully are committed to ensuring that all our students receive an outstanding and rounded education in our wonderful Catholic school. As CEO Mr Conway will still be working at Notre Dame for a large part of his time, so students and parents will see him around the school regularly, and you will also see him in the primary schools in our MAT. Mr Cully as Head of School is in charge of Notre Dame and will lead the team of staff and students towards even greater achievements, working closely with Mr Conway.
A major consideration for the MAT in moving to this new structure, with a CEO and Head of School for Notre Dame, has been the funding pressures that are affecting all schools and are predicted to get much tighter in the coming years. The Directors of our MAT have managed to create these posts within our current budget, the guiding purpose being to ensure that resources are focussed on our pupils.
