    World Book Day Fun!

Smiles aplenty, fun and delightful mayhem ensued for the day on Thursday as many staff dressed up as fictional characters for the annual World Book Day event here in school.

As well as the whole school community enjoying 15 minutes of quiet time reading at the start of each lesson, excited Year 7 students joined in the fun with their very own quiz, ‘Find the Character Competition’.  They enthusiastically sought out the characters across the site and in classrooms, brandishing their tick list, eagerly spotting and deciphering who was who in their quest for a prize with as many correct answers as possible.

Colourful costumes, smiles and madness was captured on camera and as usual a prize was awarded to the best dressed department – Well done Science! The best individual (who was awarded a box of Maltesers) was Mrs Pointer for her colourful portrayal of Medusa.

The LRC played host to a thriving hub of students at breaktime and lunchtime as youngsters queued up for their photographs to be taken in the LRCs stylised ‘Photo Booth’ (these images will later be displayed in the LRC).

In the meantime, click here to view a few of the staff members who took time to dress up for the occasion and see if you can discover who’s who!
